Since March is upon us, and I can practically feel myself gravitating toward all sort of spring things, I thought that it would be fun to put up a spring based makeup post.
Even without all the crazy love for pink in fashion both last season and this one, I've yet to meet a beauty blogger, or girl in general, who doesn't start whipping out all the pretty pinks the moment the sun starts making a regular appearance in the sky.
I had a dig through my make drawers and came across the following beauties that I hope to use throughout the next through months as we are (hopefully) welcoming in the longer days and sunnier skies.
For nail polish I think I am going to be whipping out some recent favourites, both of which are pretty bright look at my beautiful nails pinks: Essie Mod Square and Zoya Ali. The Zoya polish is so pink it's practically neon, and I think it will go extremely well with some short shorts and a bikini on holiday. For the cheeks I am looking forward to getting more use out of cult favourite MAC Stereo Rose, which I believe is being repromoted soon, and which is perfect as a 2 in 1 blush and highlighter and for making your cheeks look sun kissed and radiant. For cooler tones, I'll be reaching for my old pink favourite: Kevyn Aucoin's Cream Blush in Liquidfushia. I cannot even get over the sheer beauty of this colour every time I look at it. I know it looks terrifying in the pan, but brushed onto the cheeks with a stippling brush, it is the perfect cool toned pink that can be easily toned down or built up for a statement cheek. I think that I'll be carrying my love of MAC Cranberry into Spring, but I'll be paring it down with some light brown crease colours and a little bit of a gold highlight instead of rocking it as a smokey berry eye. Lastly, for lips I have a nude and bright option. For nudes I want to use up my old friend MAC Hue, which is a daytime nude that I have loved for more years than I can count, it's just such a damn good light pink! My bright fetish will be served by the Revlon Matte Balm in Unapologetic, because I think a matte bright lip looks absolutely gorgeous with a bare face and eyes.
What are your pink picks for summer? Or is there another colour that you love to rock around the sun?
