I have here today a product of cult in the beauty industry. You know the sort, it comes out and people go manic, buy 6 backups and rave rave rave like there has never been a product like it before nor will there be again. It is the one, the only, MAC Stereo Rose.
This is a coral Mineralize Skinfinish with gold veining and shimmer. You might be forgiven for thinking from my intro that I hate this product, I actually quite like it, I just don't understand the crazy hype over it. Maybe I'm just getting cynical in my old age ;)
This is a very pretty product. The colour is perfect as a blush on pale skintones and as a highlighter on darker skintones. It is very pigmented and blends like a dream, though I would caution a light hand as it's very easy to make yourself look like a clown if you aren't careful! It's also long wearing, it easily lasts 8 plus hours on me. I enjoy this because it is a 2-in-1 product for me, doubling as a highlighter as well as a blush because it has a distinct sheen to it. Unlike some people I don't think this product is overly shimmery - yes you will notice shimmer on your skin but you're in no danger of looking like a glitter ball. It's reasonable value for money as well, being around £21, because you get a ton of product and I can't think of anyone who would get through that much blush that fast. It's currently sold out but don't worry, knowing MAC they'll role it out again in the next year or two.
Overall this is a really pretty product and I know I'll get a lot of use out of it. But I'm not going to go crazy over it or run out and buy a back up - there are far too many new pretty blushes out there for that!
What's your opinion on Stereo Rose?
